About this Project

This hairdressing salon is an intervention, inserting a densely packed series of coinciding events into a 52 sqm space fronting a Carlton lane. Flexible joinery in constant states of transformation allows a changing spatial definition determined by the activities within. These configurable elements allow for spaces to be folded and unfolded, to function as a stage for teaching; stations to work collaboratively or individually, with single or multiple viewpoints; gallery and demonstration venue.
